Ramón Antonio Fernández y González, the son of Tomás Fernández and Amantina González, comes from a humble farming family.
He was born on April 4, 1970, in the community of Jimayaco Abajo, located in the province of La Vega, Dominican Republic. He began his education at a local school in Las Canas, a neighboring community, and continued his studies at “El Carmen” High School in La Torre, La Vega. It was during these years that he discovered his passion for literature and began exploring the world of poetry.
From a young age, Ramón felt a deep connection to poetry, writing his first verses at just twelve or thirteen years old, during the seventh and eighth grades. His love for writing has been a lifelong companion.
About thirty years ago, Ramón had the opportunity to immigrate to the United States, bringing with him his most cherished possession: a collection of poems written over the years.
Now, from his home in the U.S., Ramón is proud to present his debut poetry collection, “100 Poems and a Love Story,” a labor of love he has safeguarded since his youth.
